Three different tattoos on a woman's body including skull flowers and a bird

Hi, My Name is Brian

I'm a resident tattoo artist here at Crucial Tattoo Studio. I have been perfecting my art ever since I figured out that it was more fun to draw on the walls than to eat my crayons! Growing up in a small northwestern town in PA I took private art classes as well as advanced art courses in elementary through high school. Then attending college in Columbus Ohio as well as Pittsburgh PA graduating with a degree in Illustration. I apprenticed under Jon "Dredd" Kellogg at Crucial Tattoo Studio in 2010 after working as a custom airbrush artist for over 16 years. I do prefer tattooing in color but also enjoy black and grey. Growing up in the 80's I can pull from a plethora of vintage pop culture images as well as drawing inspiration from various artists and tattoo styles.

Please check out my portfolio below as well as additional information about myself if you scroll down.

About Brian

Long before starting his professional tattoo career, Brian had always been interested in various forms of art. From a young age he could often be found drawing and painting, pulling inspiration from his love of fantasy art, comic books, illustration and anime art.

Growing up in a small town, his friends and family recognized his love for art early on. During elementary and high school he took advanced art courses as well as private classes, pushing his understanding of various art techniques. After graduating high school Brian went on to further his passion for creating art by attending Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus Ohio as well as the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh PA. to bring his art studies to an even higher level.

His art path eventually brought him to Maryland, where he focused on airbrushing for a local airbrush shop on the boardwalk in Ocean City MD for 16 years. His airbrush skill set provided him access to many different types of custom projects throughout that time. Always looking to push his art talents, he took the advice of a close friend and began looking into a possible career in tattooing. Brian had always held a great admiration for the art of tattooing, recognizing the permanence of it, and the aspect of working on living skin, which brought with it a heightened intensity and challenge. He began his tattoo apprenticeship under Jonathan "Dredd" Kellogg at Crucial Tattoo Studio in Salisbury, MD, quickly realizing that this is where he needed to be in his art career, and welcomed the challenge of adapting his art skills to this new medium.

Brian is currently a resident tattoo artist with Crucial Tattoo Studio, and has been tattooing professionally since 2010. His years of tattoo experience accompanied with his previous art knowledge allows him to help his clients visualize and bring their tattoo ideas to life. Brian is versatile in many styles of tattoo, and whether you are looking for a full color design or black and grey style tattoo, leaning on his years of knowledge from color theory and design layout as well as pulling from his love of pop art culture, fantasy art, comic book, anime, pin up, and many more, you are in great hands!
