I appreciate you taking the time to get to know me and what I like to do. I can’t wait to have the chance to do the same and bring your visions to life.
I was born and raised in Salisbury MD, on a farm not far from Crucial Tattoo Studio, and I’ve always used art as a therapy and hobby for as long as I can remember. I eventually became classically trained in portraiture oil painting using the “alla prima” technique and working on still life studies. Due to this, I have a huge appreciation for fine art, which hopefully reflects in my tattoo work with strong compositions and use of color theory.
I started working with Crucial Tattoo Studio in 2018 and later began my tattoo apprenticeship under Jonathan Kellogg. I enjoy doing anything fantasy-related, from mythical beasts based on the natural world, to animated pop-culture creations. I also appreciate doing my versions of scientific illustrations, as it allows me to research more about the world we live in. I currently have a huge focus on insects, especially since I taxidermy them in my free time. I will always be excited to tattoo a bug!

Meredith has always had an interest in drawing, with some of her first memories being sketching on paper. She became more renowned in the local community around 2016 when she started to focus on realistic portrait oil paintings, and showcasing them in local galleries. Portraiture has always been a huge focus in her work since she loves the expressiveness that can be shown through painting human emotions. She regularly expresses herself through painting and drawing, which helps her creatively develop her tattoos and style, and was classically trained in oil painting in the Salisbury area using the “alla prima” technique and life studies. Meredith has been with Crucial Tattoo Studio since 2018 and works along with her identical twin sister, Madison Brewington. They both underwent their tattoo apprenticeships at the studio together under Jonathan Kellogg and even performed their first tattoos on one another under Jon's careful guidance.
Meredith has a fascination with the natural world and often designs imagery inspired by anything from scientific "real world" illustrations to fantastical magical creatures. She loves being able to tell a story with her work, using mystical backgrounds and strong light sources. Her use of negative space as a design element to create flow can be seen in most of her large-scale work. Meredith's favorite subjects are fantasy figure work, like mermaids, fairies, and fauns. As well as animal portraits or insects in a wide range of styles. While she likes to encompass a broad range of different styles, most of her tattoo work could be categorized as Fantasy, illustrative, and Surrealism.
In her free time, you can find her connecting with nature through study or life drawings, to better understand her future subjects. She also has a passion for insect taxidermy, so she will always be excited to do an insect-based tattoo!'
